Music has always had a way to find me, and it knows what I am feeling. I felt a bit somber today as I had to get my annual physical. I should have been off the wall happy. I have lost over 100 pounds since September 2023 and found a new love for weightlifting. My blood work was amazing compared to the same time last year. This was a KICK-ASS physical! However, now that I am 52, I have to start worrying about what killed my dad. He passed from an aortic dissection at the age of 55, and it could be in the genes. So, a kick-ass physical turned into worry about the unknown, plus missing my dad. That changed once I got into the car, and this song was playing.
The Song of the Day today is one that I dare you NOT to sing. "Don't Forget Me (When I'm Gone)" is one of those songs that can change your mood on a dime. Released in 1986, it was the lead single from Glass Tiger's debut album, "The Thin Red Line." The track hit #2 on the Hot 100 and #1 in Canada. The song is just pure magic, and with backing vocals by Bryan Adams, how could it not be a hit? Music - I LOVE YOU!
