John Lennon - Nobody Told Me

What a Monday after another crazy weekend! Today's Song of the Day is from the great John Lennon.

"Nobody Told Me" by John Lennon is one of the most iconic posthumous releases from the legendary Beatle. Recorded during the sessions for his 1980 album "Double Fantasy," the song was initially intended for Ringo Starr's album. Still, it was instead released by Lennon's widow, Yoko Ono, in 1984 as part of the "Milk and Honey" album. The track is a catchy, upbeat tune characterized by its infectious rhythm and clever lyrics, reflecting Lennon's signature wit and observational style. With its memorable refrain, "Nobody told me there'd be days like these," the song captures a sense of bewilderment and wonder at the unpredictable nature of life, resonating deeply with listeners and cementing Lennon's enduring legacy as a master songwriter and cultural icon.

The song hit #5 on the Hot 100, but in our opinion, it should have been a #1 hit.
