Released in 1982 as part of Benatar’s fourth studio album, "Get Nervous," "Shadows of the Night" quickly became a staple on radio stations and MTV. The song’s pulsating rhythm, soaring melodies, and Benatar’s impassioned vocals captured the hearts of millions. It’s a track that speaks to the enduring human spirit, embodying themes of perseverance and the fight against adversity.
This is and always will be my favorite Pat Benatar track. Although it only hit #13 on the Hot 100, it was a Top 5 hit in my heart. The video, well, that is for another day. There is just something about Pat's voice on the acapella open.
