One of my favorite memories of Chicago radio was when Q101 was a Hot AC station. They played this fantastic Survivor track all the time. "High On You" was released as the second single from the band's fifth studio album, "Vital Signs," and the first with new lead singer Jimi Jamison. The track starts off with an instantly recognizable keyboard riff, and Jimi's vocals take you on a journey of being High on LOVE.
The track hit #8 on the Hot 100 in 1985 and did the same on the U.S. Rock charts. Survivor is still one of my favorite go-to 80s bands, and "High On You" is one of my Top 10 favorite songs. We lost Jimi in 2014 at the age of 63. An amazing voice gone way too soon.
