The Song of the Day is an amazing track from Van Halen's 5150 album. This was the first album with Sammy Hagar on vocals, and what an album it was. I will not get into the David Lee Roth vs. Sammy Hagar versions of Van Halen; honestly, I love both.
"Dreams" only hit #22 on the Hot 100 in 1986. It was the second single from this #1 album. I have always felt this song deserved better. The song was a writing collaboration by the whole band, and it's an anthem for reaching for what you want. Sammy's vocals make this song an amazing motivational song for not giving up on what you want.
