1982 Whitesnake recorded this track for their album "Saints & Sinners". The song was a stiff in the U.S. but did manage to make it to #34 on the UK Singles Chart. Flash forward five years to 1987, and Heavy Metal was all the rage. The song was re-recorded for the band's seventh studio album, the self-titled "Whitesnake." With an amazing rock video starring the late Tawny Kitaen, the track skyrocketed the charts to #7 on the Hot 100.
I prefer the Top 40 radio version, which we play on The Variety Station, but the album version still has a soft spot in my heart. The band had a follow-up hit with the #2 smash "Is This Love."
